Xinhua News Agency,Nanjing, 23 Oct (Reporter: He Leijing) -- It took only 11 days and a "trek" of more than 10,000 kilometers... The “Suxin” truck flight from Germany arrived in Wuxi a few days ago, marking that land transport by truck has become the "fourth logistics channel" between Wuxi and Europe after air, marine and railway.

It is reported that the first Europe-Wuxi "truck flight" departed from Duisburg, Germany in the early morning of October 10, Beijing time, passed through Poland, Belarus, Russia, Kazakhstan and other countries, entered the Chinese Khorgos border on the evening of the 17th, cleared customs and released on the 18th, arrived in Wuxi at 11:00 p.m. on the 21st, and the first batch of arriving goods have been successfully delivered.

In addition to GPS positioning, this "truck flight" also adds functions such as temperature and humidity, vibration recording module, and open door memory module, providing safer services for the delivery of goods for enterprises. At present, "truck flights" are officially and normally operated in Wuxi, picking up westward goods from Wuxi every Tuesday and Friday, and eastward goods from Duisburg every Tuesday and Friday.

In August last year, Sino-Euro Trucking (Jiangsu) Logistics Service Co. Ltd, launched the Sino-Europe Truck Flight---"Suxin” . Dai Daobin, General Manager, said that taking the batch of goods imported from Germany as an example, it would take at least 8 days by air to Wuxi, about 30 days for railway transportation, more than 40 days for sea transportation, and only 11 days for "truck flights".

Dai Daobin said that such a fast transit time can be achieved mainly due to the "Convention on International Road Transport", which China acceded to in 2016, that is, the "TIR Convention". According to reports, the convention aims to improve transport efficiency and save transport costs, and is the only universal customs transit system in the world so far. Globally, there are currently more than 70 contracting states, most of which are located along the Silk Road Economic Belt.
